ACTIVITIES

The Monkey Hut is the most popular hostel in the lagoon, mainly because it satisfies the needs of all kind of travellers. Our hostel is widely known for its ‘social atmosphere’; it is really an outstanding place to meet and change experiences with other travellers and interesting people. But at the same time we respect travellers who want to relax and prefer to remain undisturbed and enjoy the beautiful crater views from out of their hammock…

One of the wonderful things about being at The Monkey Hut is that you don't have to go anywhere to experience a real adventure.

These are some of the activities that you can do at The Monkey Hut:

  • The best swimming in the cleanest lagoon of Nicaragua
  • Explore the lagoon coasts in one of our 8 kayaks
  • Drift around in one of our giant inner tubes
  • Enjoy the sun on our floating dock
  • Internet (free wireless internet for overnight guests)
  • Bird watching. The Lagoon has a terrific variety of local tropical and migrating birds (over 200 species), including toucans and the national mot-mot bird (locally known as the Guardabarranco)
  • Howler Monkey watching.
  • Relax in our hammocks and sunbathing chairs
  • Play a variety of board games, such as chess, Trivial Pursuit, tumbling tower, etc.
  • BBQ

One thing is for sure: you will never get bored at The Monkey Hut.
